Family Law
As a Family Law attorney, I am an aggressive and zealous advocate for my clients. It is my job to protect your rights and enable you to achieve your goals. Many times, this requires a “no-nonsense” approach. The ability to negotiate in an effective and authoritative manner is absolutely essential. However, I also must know when to “push” and when to be patient. Appropriate “people skills” are priceless.
Balancing these competing interests is necessary to achieve a result that you will be happy with, long after the ink is dry on the paperwork.
As your attorney, you will have my complete support. You will receive direction from me and we will proceed only after a complete, thorough discussion of your options and the possible consequences.
The practice of Family Law includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Divorce - Now known as Dissolution Of Marriage. There are five parts to a divorce, all to be resolved to the client's satisfaction. Those parts include: Grounds, Property Distribution, Maintenance, Child Custody, and Child Support. A complete discussion of all parts of a divorce will take place at your initial consultation
- Child Custody Modification - The Court will only look at evidence of facts that have arisen since the prior custody order or that were unknown to the Court at the time of entry of the prior custody order, that show a change in the circumstances of the child or the custodial parent, such that modification is necessary to serve the best interest of the child
- Establishing Paternity - Determines whether there is a Father/Child relationship, and, if so, establishes the Father's rights and responsibilities.
- Petition For Removal - Involves the custodial parent attempting to relocate, with the child, to another State. The Court's decision will be based upon "The best interest of the child"
The above represent the most common issues relating to family law. I have worked with hundreds of satisfied clients in resolving these types of problems. When you hire me, I will be committed to your satisfaction with the final outcome. In addition, you can be assured that I am the only attorney who will be working on your case. Every time you contact my office to discuss your case, you will be speaking directly to me. Your file will never be handed off to an associate.
